Gigabyte GA-8IP Pro PCSTATS Review - Overclocking the Gigabyte GA-8IP Pro
We used pin ATX powersupply for all testing. A new computer user trying to install Windows XP on this motherboard would pdo lost at this point. The necessary drivers are included on CD, as is a program to create a driver floppy disk, but this is not explained in the documentation well.
Gigabyte gains some user-friendliness marks with its documentation. The ICH-7R Southbridge chip oro features a small passive heatsink and this got quite toasty during testing.
Gigabyte loses the user-friendliness marks they gained in the last paragraph. It's always good to see a motherboard that includes just about everything a user would need from the get-go.
Also included is a multi-language illustrated hardware installation guide which essentially explains how to build a computer from start to finish.
There's absolutely no reason not to use this, as installing it takes only a few seconds, even for a novice. By default, the Intel P Northbridge chip is passively cooled, but Gigabyte pto included a small 40mm fan that clips to the top of the heatsink.

We had to run the application directly first. This is the first time we've had a chance to look at an Intel dual-core processor and supporting motherboard in action, so we're quite excited about the whole thing.
We've seen a few other motherboard manufacturers slip up like this recently too, so we hope it does not become a trend. The GA-8IP Pro motherboard can use either 20 or pin ATX power ag and comes with a small plastic insert to block off the unused four pins as necessary. Like clockwork, Intel can be relied upon to keep churning out chipsets, as well as reasons to want to use them.
