The screen is fairly easy to read in most conditions… although bright sunlight can significantly wash out the screen to the point it is unreadable. The original Digital Rebel kit lens did a better job with close-ups and short range photography than distance and telephoto jobs… most people will likely pick up another lens or two actually you would have to buy at least one more lens to get some range.
